The Easiest and Most Effective Fighting Method…EVER!

Self-Defense Instructor Richard Dimitri demonstrating “The Shredder” in a street fight.

It happens all the time.  One man wants to be a tough guy, has to start problems with another guy, the two men get in each other’s faces at only inches away from each other, and before you know it, they’re either slugging it out wildly, clinching (stand up grappling), or rolling around on the ground, vying for the dominant position of being on top to deliver a pounding (called the “mount” position).  I’ve often pondered to myself about what I would do in a real life self-defense situation, particularly a life or death situation.

I’m a decent boxer, and kick boxer for that matter, I have mastered some basic judo and jiu-jitsu techniques, but I have never actually studied the most common starting point of any street fighting scenario…the encroachment.  How can I effectively escalate from the being centimeters away from my opponents face, swelling with anger, to being the last man standing?

I have been a fan of Sammy Franco since I was a teenager.  Sammy Franco is the founder of Contemporary Fighting Arts, a modern system for real world self-defense.  I decided to order one of his most extreme self-defense programs, entitled Savage Street Fighting.  This training manual/dvd combo is absolutely amazing, and worth every freakin’ penny!  (Mind you, I do NOT get paid for any products I advertise on this blog.)

Sammy stresses that Savage Street Fighting is only to be used as a last resort, as the techniques, including tactical biting and eye gouging, can be fatal.  However, it is much better to know how to apply these techniques and live, then not know and die.  At first, it sounds kind of simple, biting and eye gouging.  But when I popped the dvd into my player and watched the entire thing from start to finish, I couldn’t help but think how amazing this program truly is, in how many ways you can tactically apply biting and eye gouging.

Sammy goes over the different hand grips that you must first secure before you begin your biting, specific positions that you may find your self in which would typically be a nightmare for people and how to escape using these techniques (like being lifted up into the air, on the bottom in a ground fight, etc.), how Savage Street Fighting can be used in a multiple attacker situation, and much more.

This program is so awesome, I had to spend an entire blog post on it!  It deserves a complete review, and I guarantee that you won’t find anything like it anywhere, and it certainly won’t be taught at your local strip mall dojo (“McDojo” as some like to call them).

Check out the below video on Savage Street Fighting.  I have to warn you, it’s not for the faint of heart.

Developing a Superhero Grip!

Posted on February 13, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |

This was one of the main marketing features of the old school G.I. Joes.

Ok, obviously this was bound to come up! You can’t have a blog about becoming a superhuman without having fun by tapping into the role of superhero once in a while. And since it’s just so characteristic of the corny, all-American superhero to have “kung fu grip,” as we’ve all seen in old school cartoons, I just had to title this post accordingly.

On a serious note though, I will be adding to my superhuman ability portfolio, superhuman grip. I’ve read almost everything there is to know about achieving a ridiculous hand grip, and what I’ve come up with is this…if you can close the “Captains of Crush” number 4 hand grip, then you have a superhuman grip! As recommended by the good folks at Ironmind (the makers of Captains of Crush), their number 1 hand grip is a starting point. Eventually, I WILL move all the way up to the number 4 hand grip and close it with ease!

The Captains of Crush handgrip

I’ve been hand gripping with the regular grips that you can get at any sports authority or moddells, as a training and preparation method for the Captains of Crush handgrip. That’s the real deal in forearm strength.

Since there’s not really much more to write about hand gripping (although I could tell you about the various workouts for developing stronger forearms – but that would probably be boring as hell), I’ll update you on some other news. I’ve been putting myself through a bit of caffeine withdrawal for my own good. I feel that I am suffering from adrenal exhaustion, slightly. I noticed when I had not one, but two 5-hour energy supplements yesterday, one in the morning and one obviously five hours later in the afternoon, I was still tired until bed time.

Today I woke up and had one 5-hour energy, and felt great. I believe the reason is because my body, specifically my adrenal glands, got the chance to recover, allowing my stimulant sensitivity to increase, therefore allowing one 5-hour energy to do its job more effectively today. You see, a 5-hour energy has, as it states on the bottle, “caffeine comparable to a cup of the leading premium coffee.” So two 5-hour energy supplements is only 2 cups of coffee in terms of caffeine content.

It’s typical of the average American to go way above and beyond that number, which I typically do. This being the case, I decided to follow the directions for once and have only 2 bottles yesterday. This made for a more effective single bottle this morning. Just wanted to share that with everyone as it is a good tip (that is, to cycle your caffeine intake) for anyone who wants to get the most out of their energy drink du jour.

Stay positive, stay fearless,

Is Dr. Oz a Charlatan?

Posted on February 11, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Oprah can make anyone famous.

First, I’ll update you on my superhuman training. So my arms are finally recovered for the most part, with the exception of my triceps that are still sore when I flex them (and that workout was Tuesday)! I’ve been really keeping up with my mental workouts as well as my physical ones, even with a regular job and a girlfriend. My wavemaster heavy bag is at my parents house since I left it there when I moved out, so I’m waiting for a warm day when I can clean it off outside, and transport it back to my apartment. At that point, I’ll even convert it into a makiwara striking post to toughen my hands, but I’ll save that for a future post.

And now for the topic of the day. Is Dr. Oz a charlatan? In my opinion, yes and no. He’s right about many things. He tells his audience that they should take fish oil and astaxanthin, which help with inflammation, he brings models of human anatomy on stage to show the effects of a particular unhealthy habit, which is good. However, I have a ton of people coming into the health food store that I work at for things like “Raspberry Ketones,” and “Brown Seaweed extract,” and “White Kidney Bean Extract,” and now, “Pyruvate.” This is by far the most hilarious, because pyruvate is old. I’m talking old as in it had it’s heyday about 15 years ago.

Pyruvate is an old supplement, but Dr. Oz is making it seem like it's a hot new item.

So is Raspberry ketones and white kidney bean supplements, which have been around for years under the labels of “carb blockers,” or “starch blockers.” And what’s worse is that many of the customers who have spent their hard-earned money on these products come back and tell me that they don’t work, and even try to return them (when there’s 10 pills left in a 90-pill jar 🙂 ; hey, I can’t blame em’)

One person even told me that they think Dr. Oz should be sued for false advertisement, although he’s not advertising his own line of products. I feel bad for these people. You can really see the confidence in their eyes and hear the inflection in their voice when they honestly believe that the product they’re buying is going to make a difference, usually in terms of weight loss, and that after they finish the bottle, they’re going to look how they’ve always wanted to look.

Only, they usually come back and tell me how it didn’t work. It’s at this point that I’ll explain to them that no weight loss pill in the world will replace a good diet and exercise, and if they want to take supplements it has to be the fundamentals like a multivitamin, CLA, some protein powder as a possible meal replacement or late night snack, etc.

So, what do you think. Is Dr. Oz a charlatan? Let me know, I’m always interested in what my readers think.

Stay positive, stay fearless,
James Hallmark

Modern Human Enslavement – Part 2

Posted on February 9, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Ordinarily, I start my blog posts with a picture, and post videos at the bottom to leave you with some final thoughts.  But this time, I’m starting off with a video; a video that you absolutely must watch from start to finish.  Because this video is an outline of what I am going to talk about.  You can think of this video as a prerequisite to waking up out of the “matrix” that we are all in.  Some of you are going to be emailing me with questions like, “What does this have to do with being superhuman and reaching your full potential?”  The answer, in short…EVERYTHING!  First of all, one cannot truly reach their full potential unless an environment for doing so is available, and right now, that environment is not available.  Secondly, superhumans traditionally save people.  They fly over to the scene of a crime and stop a mugging, or take out the villain that’s hell-bent on dominating the world.  The latter of the two is more realistic, and  is exactly what I intend to do.  How do we take out this super villain?  EXPOSURE.  Constant, and I mean constant exposure.  The internet is one way to do this, and is exactly why the SOPA and PIPA bills were created, to limit your ability to provide that exposure.

It all started when Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act, allowing the Federal Reserve to control the American money supply.  Most people don’t know, but the Federal Reserve is actually a PRIVATE bank!  It sounds very official, and government-like because of the term “federal,” but the truth is that it’s private, not government.  Our Founding Fathers warned us about a centralized banking system, and even believed and stated that it is more dangerous to our nation than any standing army!  Please watch the below video for a more complete explanation on the subject.

Also, it’s important to know that the above video is only the second part of a 2 hour and 30 minute video entitled Wake Up Call – New World Order Documentary.  I highly encourage everyone reading this to search for and watch the complete documentary.  You can find it on youtube.com, if it has not already been removed for some bogus reason.  I would have embedded the entire video in this post, but for some reason, embedding the entire documentary was disabled.  Hmmm…

“So James, if this evil master plan is actually true, how does it go unnoticed by the masses?”  Haha, that’s the easy part.  First let me say that although it’s going unnoticed by the masses, it’s becoming more and more noticed each and every day.  Secondly, it’s able to go unnoticed because of the controlled media!  “James, c’mon man, now you’re going too far.”  The funny thing is, I told people the exact same thing not too long ago!  You see, these people who pass for journalists, are actually just “repeaters.”  They know absolutely nothing.  Those who own the media tell these repeaters who know nothing, what to say, and then they repeat it to you, and call it journalism.  If you don’t believe that the media is controlled, please watch the below video.

Makes me laugh every time, at how in your face this whole thing is, and yet nobody notices!  Well, like I said earlier, people are noticing as a matter of fact.  The people who own the media are absolutely ruthless in controlling its output for their own agenda.  They can advertise whoever they want and ignore whoever they want.  Want proof of that as well?  Please watch the below video!  That’s one thing you’ll love about this blog folks, I don’t say anything unless I can back it up with video or documentation or some sort of proof.  Watch how (love him or hate him) Jon Stewart exposes the controlled media in how they purposely ignore Ron Paul, since he is the biggest threat to the established elite.

Don’t worry, I won’t be using this blog solely as a platform for exposing the world elite.  I will of course be talking about achieving the physical, mental, and spiritual limits and beyond and improving the human condition.  But remember, what I said.  A superhuman saves people.  What good is achieving your full human potential and going above and beyond those limits, if it is not used for something.  Because if you know the truth, and you choose not to spread that truth, and instead stick your head in the sand of what Paris Hilton is doing, or what celebrity is marrying who, or who’s going to win american idol, then you’re no better than the people at fault.  So what kind of superhuman are you going to be, a superhero, or a supervillain?  Make your choice.

Left Wing, Right Wing...Two wings on the same bird. Don't forget that.

Supplements For The Superhuman

Posted on February 7, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Ok, I just finished not 1, not 2, not 3, but EIGHT sets of biceps curls!  Specifically, standing, alternating dumbbell curls.  I mixed it up between hammer curls and traditional dumbbell curls, so that I worked the whole biceps muscle (including the brachialis), and not just the famous peak of the biceps (brachii).  Here is a picture to better illustrate:

The "Hammer Curl"

Any who, as soon as I finished, I took in 20 grams of whey protein, specifically whey protein isolate.  While I was mixing up my chocolate protein powder in a glass of water, I realized that I have not yet posted about what supplements I’ll be using while voyaging on this journey of superhuman attainment!  The topic was bound to come up, so what better time than now?  Ok, so obviously I will be using whey protein as my post-weight training supplement, but I’m also using a whole host of other supplements as well.  Without further ado…my Superhuman Supplement Stack!

1. Biochem Whey Protein Isolate

It’s not the tastiest protein, but it is a high quality and very natural one.  It’s sweetened with a little bit of natural cane sugar, and stevia, a plant-based natural sweetener.  There are probably better proteins out there, but this one I got for free, so what can I say?

2. Rainbow Light Men’s One Daily Multivitamin

Like the protein above, there are better multivitamins out there, but this one I also happened to get for free.  The health food store that I work at received this one on accident so I was allowed to keep it.  And when you’re building your cash reserves for reinvestment in your business, you’ll make do with the free multivitamin.  After all, it is still a good quality multivitamin, with a full spectrum of minerals, as well as whole food concentrates (which are little bits of real food that help deliver the vitamins and minerals into your system for maximum absorption).

3. Irwin Naturals Yohimbe Plus

Believe it or not, I also got this one for free too!  I guess in retrospect I’m a pretty lucky guy!  Occasionally a company who we buy from will send the employees free product for selling so much, and I happened to get this one.  Yohimbe is a stimulant and male health supplement.  In other words, it gives you energy and gets you aroused!  Although I don’t take it for the latter, I do take one capsule daily with a cup of coffee for energy (coffee alone just doesn’t do it for me).  This brings me to my next supplement, and yes this is a supplement:

4. Caffeine

Coffee, I’m sure you know, is a natural source of caffeine.  Ashlee and I have had one of those Keurig brewers, so I simply pop in a dark roast K-cup and let er’ rip!  I don’t add anything to it except 2 or 3 stevia packets.  Usually I use stevia in the raw, pictured below:

Stevia is known for having a bitter, licorice-like after taste, and I find that Stevia in the Raw doesn’t have that particular aftertaste, rather, it’s just sweet, so it makes for good use in coffee or tea.  On days that I don’t feel like having coffee, I usually drink a Redline.  Be warned though, Redline is much more potent than Red Bull so do NOT confuse the two.

Redline RTDs (Ready-To-Drink) give you insane energy!

Obviously there are other supplements that you can add to your supplement stack.  For now, in terms of the physical, I’m going after superhuman flexibility and superhuman fighting ability, so the above supplements suffice.  In the future, when I’m going for strength, I’ll also be adding in creatine, glutamine, arginine or some sort of nitric oxide (“N.O.” for short) booster.  Also, when I’m sick, I use a whole different set of supplements, which I will go over in a future post.  For now, I only wanted to talk about the supplements I’m using for athletic performance.  Until next time…

Stay positive, stay fearless,

James Hallmark

Modern Human Enslavement

Posted on February 7, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , |

Nikola Tesla was a genius scientist and perhaps the world’s greatest human being.

Ok, so you’ve read my previous posts where I have referenced how you and I are slaves.  Obviously I’m not referring to the land-working slaves of old, with metal shackles around their arms.  Rather, I am referring to slaves of today, with invisible shackles around their life.  I will go into way more detail in future posts, but for now, I’ll wake you up out of the matrix with a well-documented and true story, so there is no question about me being a “conspiracy theorist” or a “cook” or any other rediculous terms that elitests use to discredit people like myself.  Without further ado…

Nikola Tesla was an engineer who invented alternating current (AC power), which would change the science of electronics forever.  A true inventor and super genius, his inventions were for the sole purpose of uplifting the human condition.  He even created plans for a “Death Beam,” which would end all wars.  So how does all of this info make us slaves?  Don’t worry, I’m getting to that.

Tesla’s largest undertaking ever was the Wardenclyffe Tower, also called the “Tesla Tower,” in Long Island, New York.  Unfortunately lacking funds, this project was financed by J.P. Morgan, who (surprise, surprise) wished to remain a silent partner in this project.  The Wardenclyffe Tower was to act as a world-wide wireless communication system for sending sound and pictures.  But Nikola had a secret, that is, the tower could also electrify the world, providing limitless, FREE energy for everyone, everywhere!

Wardenclyffe Tower in Long Island, New York

When J.P. Morgan found out that he could not put a meter on it and charge people for the energy that this tower delivered, he disengaged from the financial agreement he had with Tesla and in addition, encouraged other financiers not to back Tesla.  Eventually, necessary funding for the Wardenclyffe tower was completely halted, and the project had to be shut down.  Tesla eventually died alone and penniless in a New York hotel at the age of 86.

So, do you see how those in power are keeping you and I enslaved?  And this is only ONE way that they are doing this.  And please remember that this is NOT a conspiracy theory, this is real.  This is fully documented and 100% verifiable.  If you do not believe me, please do your own research on the subject.  As a matter of fact, I encourage it!

Information like this is the reason why the U.S. government wants to control the internet with bills like SOPA and PIPA, all under the guise of “internet terrorism,” so that you and I can never find out about things like this.  The truth is that no one today, anywhere in the world should be paying for energy that could be free and limitless.  But that of course, would not be profitable for those who use the world as their chess board.

Please watch the below video in it’s entirety!

Superhuman in Training – Day 1

Posted on February 7, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

Shaolin Monks achieve superhuman abilities through intense training.

“Superhuman,” as defined by google’s dictionary feature is “Having or showing exceptional ability or powers.”  I felt I needed to define the word “superhuman,” because traditionally, it conjures up images of a man in a cape, with muscles that rival the most ‘roided-up bodybuilders, flying over to stop a mugging.  Obviously, this is not the case with Humanetix.  Superhuman simply means a human who works hard to acheive abilities that humans don’t ordinarily have.

There are people who have had, or currently have superhuman abilities.  Notables include martial artists like the shaolin monks, geniuses like Nikola Tesla, and strongmen like Mariusz Pudzianowski.  However, although these men had or have a superhuman ability like super flexability and fighting ability, genius, and super strength, I would not consider them to be “superhuman.”  To me a superhuman has all of these abilities!

With that said, I think I’ve taken the proper first steps in my journey to become a superhuman.  I started with the body, performing “perfect pushups,” completing 5 sets of 10, then moved on to my abdominal crunches and lying leg raises.  I will be doing my oblique crunches later on, along with some biceps curls and triceps curls at a rate of 5 sets x 15 reps per set.

Mariusz Pudzianowski has superhuman strength!

I’ll be heading to lumosity.com as well to improve my mental abilities.  I noticed that my grainless diet (Primal Blueprint) has been helping my memory and reaction time as well.  In addition to all of this training however, I’ll also be teaching myself how to sing, dance, and cook!  I believe that in addition to having superhuman abilities, one should not lack in ANY area, because a superhuman should also be super capable 😉

Now, of course the most important of all, is acheiving a super bank account, because freedom isn’t free.  I’ll need a lot of capital to acheive all of the goals that I want to acheive.  I’ll need to eventually buy lessons in various martial arts like judo, jiu-jitsu, and wing chun kung fu.  I’ll need to move out of my apartment and into a house, a large one, with plenty of room for a laboratory, a dojo/gym, and a restaurant-worthy kitchen.  I want to support The Free Energy Project and The Venus Project (which I’ll discuss in near future posts), which unfortunately can’t be supported simply with good will.

Ok, so that’s my update with what I’ve been doing so far.  Not bad for someone with a full time job and a girlfriend.  Also, I forgot to mention that I will be practicing some of the basic Tae Kwon Do kicks, as well as my boxing footwork, and shadowboxing in which I’ll incorporate both boxing punches and tae kwon do kicks into effective combinations, keeping proper form a priority throughout the entire workout.

Stay positive, stay fearless,

James Hallmark

How to Reach Your Full Human Potential – The Spirit: Part 2

Posted on February 5, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

In the last post I talked about the importance of detaching yourself from your material possessions, not giving them up, but simply not needing them.  I also talked about how the main motivator of all things negative is fear.  Fear is the ultimate enemy of human advancement, as it is the precursor for anger, hate, jealousy, racism, and all things negative, whereas love is the precursor for all things positive.

I feel that the importance of blogging about fear in this post cannot be overstated.  The ultimate path to personal euphoria, nirvana, or whatever you would like to call it is the extinguishment of fear.  How do I know?  Because I used to be afraid, of EVERYTHING!  Ok, well maybe not everything, but you get the idea 🙂

I was afraid of being drafted for the so-called “war on terror,” I was afraid of approaching women due to fear of rejection, I was afraid of not having the body I wanted, I was afraid of moving out and being detached from my parents and brother, I was afraid of starting my own business (“because what if it failed” – I realize how silly this is now), I was afraid…period.

So how did I stop being so afraid? Interestingly enough, it was actually all of the fearful suffering I went through that made me unafraid.  Quite the living oxymoron!  I got so sick and tired of my fearful situation that I had an epiphany, which was “What am I really afraid of?”  “What was really going to happen if any of those things I am afraid of actually happens?”  And that’s when it hit me…”absolutely NOTHING!”  And if something did happen that was less than desirable, was it fatal?  No, like the famous bumper sticker says, “$hit happens.”  That’s it, nothing more, nothing less.  Life goes on.

And from that moment on, I completely stopped caring.  Not in the sense that I became emotionless, but rather, I chose (yes it is a choice) Love over Fear.  If my future business endeavors failed, I’d just start over, or improve until I was successful.  If I gave up the bad foods that I loved so much, big deal.  If a woman rejected me, I would learn from it and come back stronger in future approaches.  Fear only has as much power as you give it, as does love.  So please, choose love.

P.S. Please watch the below video, as it is sure to enlighten ANYONE as to why fear is the ultimate enemy of human advancement!

Stay positive, stay fearless,

James Hallmark

How to Reach Your Full Human Potential – The Spirit: Part 1

Posted on February 3, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Since there is a very real possibility of the term “spirituality” being undefinable, attempting to understand how it can help someone reach their full human potential in a single blog post is simply impossible.  For this reason, this post will serve as only the first part of a future series of posts regarding the spiritual aspect of reaching your full human potential.

Reaching your full human potential in terms of the spirit is going to, at first, mean something different for everyone.  Some people reading this may be devoutly religious, others may be atheists, and some may be agnostic; but whatever the case, I will not be talking at all about religion here, rather, I will be referring only to spirituality.

What’s the difference?  The difference is huge!  Religion is very specific, with a specific god or gods, specific rituals, specific chants or prayers, etc.  Spirituality is universal, and can be accepted by everyone.  Some core spiritual beliefs are: living in the moment (not in the past or future), enjoying the passage of time, kindness towards one another, and most of all…detachment from material items.  So as you can see, spirituality is something that anyone can practice, whether you are a theologian, atheist, or in between.

Like many Americans, and many people in general for that matter, brand names used to matter to me.  I used to equate them with my self-worth (think Edward Norton’s character in the beginning of Fight Club).  I realized that this was an unhealthy habit, so I donated all of my expensive Abercrombie and Fitch T-shirts and many other expensive clothes to “Good Will.”  I went to Walmart and purchased plain black and plain white T-shirts and wore only those shirts, along with no-name jeans and sneakers for about one year now.  And I can honestly tell you, I have no idea what I was thinking before.

“The origin of suffering is attachment.”

_____Buddha

Attachment to material possessions is one of the many things that keeps humans enslaved as a species, keeping us from discovering our full potential and robbing us from our ability to advance our race, because we are forever stuck in survival mode, needing to get the best sneakers and the best jeans and the best car and the best house and the best “this” and the best “that.”

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t want nice things, but that’s just it, in order to truly reach your full human potential, you should want those things, not need them.  This is a much bigger difference than you may realize.  Attachment comes from the ultimate enemy of human advancement…fear.  It is the belief of many modern spiritualists that there are really only two emotions that a human can experience, love and fear.  All things positive come from love: joy, happiness, kindness, etc.  All things negative come from fear: anger, hate, resentment, one upmanship.

Some people genuinely enjoy the style of brand name clothes, and that’s ok.  But for many, brand name clothes are simply a means of displaying an aura of prestige, perhaps to impress the opposite sex or to show dominance in the financial ability to purchase these clothes.  Whatever the case, the fear of not being able to do either of these two things or even worse, both, is what prompts many people to open their wallets and give away billions every year to clothes that are made in the same sweatshops as the no-name clothes, but cost unreasonably more.

There is a lot of wisdom in the above quote from Buddha.  Buddha knew that being able to not need what should be “wants,” is one of the keys to achieving a personal euphoria, or as he referred to it, “Nirvana.”  So if you are how I used to be in the expensive clothes department, the next time you’re staring in your closet, think back to this post, and ask yourself why exactly you have what you have in there.  Ask yourself whether it really makes a difference if you have sneakers from Footlocker, or sneakers from Kohls.  Ask yourself if there’s really a difference between white undershirts from Calvin Klein or undershirts from K-Mart.  I guarantee you will surprise yourself.

Stay positive, stay fearless,

James Hallmark

How to Reach Your Full Human Potential – The Mind

Posted on February 2, 2012. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

In the last post I talked about how I plan to begin reaching my body’s full potential.  Now we’ll talk about how to reach the full potential of the mind.  The human brain is an amazing part of the body.  Most people think of the brain as a single organ, however the brain is actually composed of three “brains” combined.  They are the reptilian brain, or lower brain, the mammalian brain, or mid brain (also called the “limbic system”), and the neocortex, or the human brain, all of which are pictured below.

Rather than focus on the mechanics of brain science, in this post I’m going to talk about how to increase your mental capacity to a superhuman level, and how I plan on beginning to do that myself.

Diet

Most people think of this as an essential part of acheiving the body’s full potential, and it is, but I decided to place “diet” in this post about acheiving the mind’s full potential to stress how important diet is to the brain.  It’s starting to become well known that gluten, a type of protein found in wheat products, is detrimental to brain function.  Some resources even say that it can contribute to if not cause alzheimer’s disease.  So, to take care of this, I have decided to take on a completely grainless diet.  I will be following the Primal Blueprint Diet, created by Mark Sisson.

I recommend that anyone interested in weight loss, lean muscle accrual, increasing their energy, getting a better nights sleep, and of course, proper brain function, buy this book!  As the book recommends, I’ll be eating only foods that were native to our paleolithic ancestors like coconut oil, lean meats, fish, chicken, avocados, etc.

Exercise

Yes, that’s right exercise.  It’s not just good for your body, it’s good for your mind.  As mention in my previous post, I’ll be undertaking a custom martial arts cirriculum.  Scientists have proven that aerobic exercise is excellent for cognitive function.

Lumosity.com

Lumosity.com is an EXCELLENT website the provides “games” to increase the abilities of your brain in the following areas: memory, problem solving, flexibility, speed, and attention.  I will be visiting lumosity.com daily to perform the various brain exercises available to help push my brain to superhuman levels.

Reading

I will constantly have a book going.  I just got finished with Gary Vaynerchuck’s excellent book on social media marketing entitled Crush It! which is pictured below

I am currently reading Electronics for Dummies, as I will be using science to help push my brain to its limits and beyond.  I will be starting with small projects such as miniature robots, and will be moving on to large projects like anatomically correct robots and the Tesla Free Energy Generator.  The cool thing about it is that I started out knowing absolutely nothing about electronics.  And now I’m learning about the differences between AC and DC (alternating current and direct current), where electricity comes from and what it is, the various electronic components, how batteries work, Ohm’s Law and more, all in the first chapter!

Doing math problems in my head

Coming from a generation that used calculators for almost everything, I will be constantly solving simple math problems in my head to build up my quickness and problem solving abilities, and will then be moving on to more complex math problems like equations, all solved without a calculator or pencil and paper!

Stay positive, stay fearless,

James Hallmark
